A VERY SPECIAL WELCOME

La Guía para la Vida (Guide to Life) is a handbook given to new university students on their first day of class. It's the cornerstone of the welcome pack they receive. It contains all the important university-related information they need to know: calendars, maps, extra initiatives and programs they can benefit from, as well as interviews with faculty and alumni, entertainment content, and tips for making the most of this pivotal life stage.

STUDENTS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN

The guide comes with complementary materials and merchandise, making it a very comprehensive product. The visual identity is based on two concepts: fun and experimentation.

Just as university is a constant discovery and learning process, the guide offers something unique to discover on each page. All sections have their own identity, resulting in a very flexible eclecticism while achieving coherence through typography, hand-drawn style details and the base grid.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

This handbook is a very complex editorial product that involved various university professionals, students, translators, and constant collaboration between our studio's content and design departments. This case study only includes the graphic pieces that I personally designed, with the exception of the cover, which is included to provide context and was designed by my colleague Roberta Karnilaviciute.
